Copyright information

Before deciding to deposit a research paper into the SORT repository, please determine that you have the right to make this decision. As the author normally assigns copyright to the publisher with commercially published articles and conferences proceedings, the author will have to contact the publisher and request permission to deposit the work into SORT. If the published version of the paper can't be made public on the repository, it may be possible to expose a pre-print of the paper or even link to the paper on the publisher's website.

Where the research paper has multiple authors, each of the co-authors must agree to deposit a copy of the paper into the repository.

Where the author of the research paper still holds copyright in the work Monash University SORT repository will not seek transfer of the copyright from the author.

Where research contains significant amounts of copyright material from other sources, permission must be obtained from the copyright owners before this material is included in the repository.

If you are unsure of the rights relating to copyright in your material, please contact the University Copyright Officer. Copyright can be a complicated matter and contributors may find it useful to know more about the issues. For further information, visit copyright at Monash University.
