Abstract
Under contract with the Florida Department of Transportation, the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) was asked to research and analyze the transit maintenance technician workforce. The scope included examination, researching, interviewing and surveying the transit maintenance profession to find issues and factors which affect the profession. Additionally, based on survey results and interviews, CUTR included agencies who have effectively implemented recruitment and retention programs.
